Project Title

Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) & Dementia

Year of Fellowship - 2010

Summary

I travelled to Toronto and Vancouver meeting experts in the field and attending an arts and dementia conference in Penticton. It was a really important career opportunity in terms of the confidence it gave me to know that a) my work although different in terms of its arts based approach was nevertheless much appreciated in Canada b) I can indeed set up new work on the back of what I learnt and achieved on the Fellowship, maintaining the contacts I made and developing new ones. Results have seen the development of a national/international network I run and the development of a new website that I am the Co-ordianator for hosted by the NHS Trust I work for. Please go to www.dancedementiahub.co.uk for more information about the work and approach coupled with its importance in the field of dementia care generally.
