Project Title

Visited the United States of America to look at Banking Services.

Year of Fellowship - 1970

Travelling early on in the life of the Churchill Fellowship scheme, I was fortunate to spend 3 months visiting banks and financial institutions across the States looking at the range of banking services they offered. At that time many tempted customers with promotional gifts, and with some States prohibiting branch networks, competition was particularly strong. Credit cards were in their infancy, but beginning to flourish. I was honoured to be a WCMT Council Member from 1996-1999, helped set up an Association in London in the 70's and have long been a committee member of the East Pennines Association, including Chairman.
