Project Title

Storymaking as a method of assessment in mental health

Year of Fellowship - 1999

My Fellowship took me to Israel and Palestine to work with Prof Mooli Lahad and others using the 6-Part Story Method. This involves a therapist offering a structure to help a client create a new, fictional story; the hope is that the story’s elements, themes, relationships etc tell us something about what is important to the client. Winning the Fellowship inspired me to apply for further funding and I won a Fellowship from the NHS to undertake research on the method. This led to the award of my PhD in 2004 and several articles now published on the topic.
